User Acceptance Testing

Course Outline

User Acceptance testing is about the business determining whether a software product built for them is fit for the intended purpose and any remaining risks are well qualified before a deployment decision is taken.

The approach of the course is to present this activity as a process that is part of the bigger software development process. The key questions that are answered are about what should User Acceptance tests achieve, how to design effective tests and how to manage the execution of the testing process. In addition to these core topics, other issues that are essential for performing the process are covered. These include estimation & planning, preparing the environment and reporting structures. This is backed up by practical exercises covering the topics. Key tools such as test management and defect management tools will be presented and the participants are encouraged to try them out.
