Java Web Services APIs
Overview of the Java Web Services API. Basic Java Web Services architecture and elements.
XML and XML Schema
Review of XML and XML Schema and their role in web services. The Java XML Processing APIs - JAXP, DOM and SAX.
Web Services Messaging and SOAP.
SOAP and its use as the messaging format between web services. SOAP with Attachments and SAAJ.
Web Service Descriptions and the WSDL
Describes how web services are formally specified in a fully interoperable manner using WSDL. Generating the WSDL from web services end-points. Generating web services clients from the WSDL.
The Publishing and Discovery of Web Services.
UDDI and JAXR, the Java API for XML-based Registries.

Packaging JSEs in a WAR file. Deploying EJB end-points. WSDL and the JAX-RPC Mapping File. Java (formerly J2EE) and web service security.

Prerequisites

Object Training strongly recommend that students have a good grasp of XML concepts and Java fundamentals.
Students should have an understanding of the content presented in our training courses XML Uncovered and Java Foundations prior to attending this course.
