MODELLING USER REQUIREMENTS USING UML

Course Outline

This training course is endorsed by the International Institute of Business Analysis.
Getting requirements right at the beginning of a software development project means effective software which meets the business needs of your organisation.

Modelling User Requirements process ensures complete and accurate identification of user requirements. It's more than an intuitive way of 'figuring out' the functional requirements of a system. It is the application of a process of proven techniques (eg; use-cases, business object modelling, logical user interface modelling) to produce useful and verifiable models. This means a reduction of software faults, less time wasted on the production of unimplemented and unused features, and the early detection of defects.

This course will provide you with the most advanced techniques and processes for gathering, modelling and documenting your user requirements. It demonstrates how you can use requirements modelling to add value to your software development and to your business.

Outcomes

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Help users understand their business requirements and express them to others.
  • Produce documentation on user requirements using UML as the diagram standard to enhance communication.
  • Provide a clear, unambiguous statement of the user requirements so that the level of correctness and completeness achieved in the solution can be measured during the System Acceptance phase.
