PROCESS MENTOR DESIGNER ARCHITECT
Course Outline
The course covers the Process Mentor processes of Enterprise Modelling, System Modelling, Subsystem Modelling and Component Modelling.
Enterprise Modelling deals with high level organisation architectures (systems of systems), whilst System Modelling is the process of developing an architecture and high-level design for a particular system, or application, using component-based approaches. Subsystem Modelling is the process of designing the major subsystems of a solution and acts as the link between the System Modelling and Component Modelling. Subsystem Modelling also covers various work-packaging mechanisms such as Application Models, Infrastructure Specifications and Application Specifications. Component modelling covers the specification of a software design using the concepts of components.
This course uses the Object Management Group's standard component notation, the UML (Unified Modelling Language), as the core design notation.
Outcomes
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Undertake a large enterprise modelling project
- Develop an architectural solution and specify the components of a solution
- Design a system comprising of a set of subsystems that satisfy a requirements model
- Design a subsystem comprising of a set of components
- Divide the architecture into different types of work packages
- Track and manage the development of components
